If in your years of experience you could pass one bit of advise to a final year apprentice about to qualify what would it be and why?

Is there anything you wish someone a little older and wiser had told you before you finished your time?

You only start to REALLY learn once you get out there on your own. I found that out myself.All the time you are an apprentice someone else is doing the thinking and taking responsibility. Once you finish your time accept that it's going to be a steep learning curve,there will be balls ups...learn from them,and dont make the same mistake again....and good luck!

Yes abandon ship and get into computer software programming, you will be on big money and use your brain not your hands and never work in loft spaces, crawl under floors and wait 3 months to get paid by some numptey builder with a brain the size of a peanut, rant over

The more posts I'm reading lately the more I'm thinking I'm making a bad decision going back to college to complete 3yrs of studying to become fully qualified. Is the industry, and day rates, really that bad now?
