i think that flex shield is still to be recognised by bs7671 as a cable type that doesnt need rcd protection , like pyro & swa , thus has limited use.
its biggest obstacle is its limited to 170A fault current , as stated in the advert.

Only used it on a large domestic where they wanted to keep interference between mains and data to a minimum. Quite good stuff to work with, handles pretty much like fp but its killer expensive gear

If its BS8436 then it is recognised by BS7671 - see 522.6.5 (that was the BRB - green book is in the van!)

Obviously as its limited to 170A can only be used on circuits up to B rated 32A MCBs.

I did a whole house in this because I couldn't run cables through floor joists. Old (1700s) house!

unfortunately alot of rcbos these days are in the type C flavour , even for domestic Cu's depending on the brand.
an unwarey installer may get caught out by its limitations so its use should be cautious if not using rcd protection , just a thought.

But this negates the need for RCBOs, relying on the over current functionality of MCBs to disconnect a fault, type B MCBs are widely available.
