Hi guys, im hoping to get apprenticeship soon....applied for one with council and waiting to hear back but some just popped up with scottish n southern with their Contracting depo. Question is does anyone know diff in these two examples of apprenticehsip- do you just become an 'electrician' or does working only in industrial mean cant do domestic jobs? any info be great. thanks.
 
its swings and round abouts mate, i did my apprentiship purly wiring fire alarms, i had to work hard at college but i got there, i have worked doing normall sparking work since and it all up there just need to dig it out of my mind haha, you will be ok, if i had a choice i would go with the scotish and southern, but then again council could be an easy number haha.

If given the choice do an industrial type apprenticeship as thats where the money will always be.

House bashing s pretty easy to pick up after you've had a short go at it.

In Scotland the way to get an apprenticeship is different from England, we have SECTT Home - Scottish Electrical Charitable Training Trust who all prospective apprentices do an aptitude test with and get interviews based on their results.
