Hi all

I posted last week inthe newbie thread's about my door entry dilemma. i'm fixing door entry system that's was not working.

The original transformer had died. I could not find an exact replacement so i got this one below from CEF the guy told me this was the closest to my original trannie he could get as the old one (i had the mode/type number) is not made anymore.

The old trannie was 12v ac 8v dc

How do i recreate that with the above tranformer connections.

CEF guy told me i had to use the resistor that came with new tranformer (picture)

I know it's basic but ive only ever done a few door entry systems in my 10 years being in the electrical trade and most of those were brand new system's with instruction's lol.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi mate

Your pic - is that the replacement Txfmr they sent, or the back of the entry panel?

It looks like that's purely a power supply on it's own form the bit of pic you've posted up

looks to me like you use the 12v and common for dc, and the 8v and ac for ac, might be wrong though. see what you get out of it with a meter.
