Hi All
This just a quick one Why do we not have double pole MCB's ? would it not make testing easier ? maybe this has come up before and i missed it .
Thanks
John

There are many applications within the industry that require double pole disconnection.

The most common would be within a TT system, I was trained in a time where the RCDs were not as prevalent as now and in a TT system because of the normally EFLI it was desirable for safety to disconnect both LIVES as often a N-E fault in a TT system would not be picked up.

There are several other applications such as explosive environments where I would use double pole PDs as well
