Looking at installing 2x double EV charger units in an underground car park each unit requires 64A supplies, the nearest fuseboard is roughly 120m away

What would be the best option, installing a local DB near the chargers and running 2x smaller SWA's to the units or installing 2x larger cables from the far DB. Would it also be wise to install a 3P DB local to the chargers and supply the chargers from different phases, looking at cable sizes it would require 35mm2 to supply each charger from the far DB. What size cable would be needed to feed a new DB next to the EV chargers? Would you calculate it from 128A or 64A and put each charger on a different phase?

Are the points single or 3 phase

Are the points single or 3 phase

We are quoting 2 options, first option is 2x double single phase units which are 64A each, so each unit has 2x 7.3kW outputs.

The second option is again 2 double chargers but 3 phase, each charger is 22kW so 64A per phase

I’d go with a sub main personally and distribute locally. No experience in EV chargers though so just my opinion.

My advice would be a 3 panes sub main to nearby then if single phase a 4 core 6mm or 10mm and split over 2 phases

Three phase then 16 mm to each

What Make of points ?
