Is any body going for this

I am looking at the fitness test questions and its not as easy as I first thought.

is any body else filling out these forms?

swap ideas on answers

This is something I'm tempted to do, emailed off to the GDFC to ask about membership, got told to contact their membership secretary, emailed off but nothing back as of yet.

The biggest barrier here is actually how we access the finance to pass on to our customers. The GDFC seems closed off to only the bigger players.

No I got intouch and have got pass the first application process , I am now anwering quetions for a fitness test but you need to give 500 word answers jesus fells like im at school again ... any body else doing this

if you get a copy of the fitness test let me know Im strugging to answer every question with upto 500 words !!!

I sent them the fitness test but they called me to tell me to add more details ????

In a sense they do but they go to the 'Market' to get the finance, they don't use their own money.

correct they will go to a ''green bank'' and have the funds within 30 days.

help me with this form jesus sat here staring at it.

I am considering this. However i have a doubt. The whole green deal seems to be a way of sort of forcing debt onto low income households. Obviously there will be benefits for the household also. Anyone with actual money would be mad to get involved with this.

The advisers and installers don't stand to gain much as far as i can see but the providers can skip off the top.. It seems to me to be a bit of a financial services industry con... However if it's legal and arguably ethical then why not?

The game changer is when they start charging council tax on EPC rating of the property which seems to have gone quiet again...

Its a gamble really do you pay the cost of the accreditaions and then hope to get loads of work from it.

I think to make money out of this you need to be doing 20 Green deal plans per mth.

as its gonna be little profit per green deal .

not like solar used to be one job a week could keep you going

Just a thought. Can a landlord sign up without the tenants permission? Nothing to gain for the tenant given their savings pay the loan...

no.

but tenants can sign up and the landlord has to agree.

i see no benefit for a tenant unless council tax changes. or they are concerned about their c02 footprint...

Depending on the improvement they could get a warmer house. Or if they have a particularly old boiler then it will give them a little more reliability.

I suppose the good thing for the tenant is that there probably is no real downside.

Cashflow alert! Cashflow alert! Just a word about becoming a Green Deal Provider and only from our own local perspective, although I understand it's replicated in other parts of the country. The reason a lot of people aren't going down the provider route is the cashflow issues. As I understand it unless you've got access to several millions to keep you going til your cashflow is resolved it's potentially a lot worse than starting with solar when you had to wait for 3 months for your vat.

If you're providing finance as a GDP your contractors will still want paid within 30 days at the most. Finance companies are talking about making payments in 90 - 120 days. A lot of big companies have walked away because they can't deal with the cashflow implications.

10 x GDL @ 10k = 100k and that's only half of what MEP reckons you might need to keep afloat each month. You have to pay your contractors (or yourself if you are the contractor) but your 100k won't come through for 120 days. Stumped at the first hurdle, that's why the big guys are becoming GDP's and the little guys will have to collect the crumbs.

If I've missed something I apologise, but I was having a discussion about this 2 weeks ago with some other businesses in our area and it appears to be a major stumbling block.
