Yes I guess I'll be the new boy then..
Ok let me give you all a potted history and a reason for coming over hear.
I am a 48 year old Mechanical Engineer, I'm a contractor and consiquently work in many and varied industries all over the UK (occasionally the world). I'm worried that I may have left this too late but, an electrical qualification is something that I really should be considering, but which one? That's why I'm here.
Until recent years and the advent of the claim culture, I have actually touched on some electrical work, but of course nowadays a man with no formal sparks qualifications, isn't allowed anywhere near.
Consiquently I either don't get the contract or a sparks has to be sourced.
So what would be the bare basic minimum qualification I could look into getting?
Please bear in mind I dont really want to spend five years gaining any papers like I had to when serving my engineering time..
Thanks
Marc
