im new on here, ive got a problem trying to put a new pir light on, i tried to wire up the old one and its either not working when i wire it up or the switch inside the hallway doesnt work, im going to put a new pir light in its place which i have done several times before but out of the wall i have the following coming out of the wall to wire to the pir light.h

2 x seperate 3 core wires, each with a red wire (live), black wire (n) and earth. one of these 3 core wires goes to the mains feed and one goes to a light switch in the hall.

i am connecting it to the following pir,

but before i do i wanted to check if its as simple as connecting both sets of red, black and earth together in one side of the choc block to the corresponding connections on the pir or is it more complicated.
thanks
dave

From the mains, red to a separate connector block black the n terminal on the light , to the switch, red to the red in the separate connector block and black to the live terminal and all the earths to the earth terminals but I would suggest you get it tested afterwardsOh and put some brown sleeving around the black going to the live terminal

I would jst check behind the switch in the hallway and make sure you are definately dealing with a switched line conductor which has not been identified, as it may be that it is a neutral jointed within the switch enclosure.
If thats the case then the main feed would supply the pir sensor and the switch feed would be the manual overide connected to the lamp. (just to be on the safe side)

thanks for advice, not entirely sure what i would be looking for at the back of the socket?

A connector block with a load of black cables going into it , but I wouldn't of thought there would be from what u have said, if it doesn't work tomorrow just take some pics and post em up, a picture speaks a thousand words!!:)
