Hi brains trust,

I am aware of typical wiring and legalities hence the questions.

Looking for a wiring diagram to allow me to use a dual switch (OEM style for Y62) which features a single input feeding two independently switched outputs for my spotties and drl’s.

I want the DRL’s separate to park and high beam lights as they will be behind the grill and I would like the option for on and off.

Typically your single switch for each will work no problem, but with the single input using the normal input being high beam I would only be able to use the drl’s when the highs are active.

I have been told that I can use accessories as the trigger for both circuits (DRL will be fine with that) I just need to work out how to wire/setup the relay for the spotties from high possibly with negative switching or other methods.

If I could use 2 switches and keep them separate I would but just don’t have the available realestate without cutting into the fascia (which I really don’t want to do)

That is the conundrum…

Any help or preferred diagram would be greatly appreciated.

A relay doesn't care if it has a - or + supply to the coil so can be switched on or off with either.

DRL are meant for daylight and should be dimmer in the night.

Is there an option to dim on your DRL or are they not dimmable.

I do not believe they are dimmable, therefore if we can include the schematic to cut the DRL with low beam also so I can wire up accordingly would be appreciated. From memory I think I have found a schematic that would do that but admit didn’t pay much attention as I wasn’t aware that was a requirement.

I guess the easiest way would be to run a supply from ignition /aux via a relay that drops the supply when the lights are on.
