Discuss Please advise me on safety of loose plug in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

If we're trying to outdo each other, my mate's got a space rocket and he wanted me to change the bit that makes it go into space. He paid me in NASA grade rocket fuel which I use to start my barbeque. Which is made of titanium left over from when they made the space shuttle.

All that sounds very standard...me pals in Elland, knit, using two unicorns ;)

she'd crack it,

In fact is that what that wired walk shes got is about?

Let's just say I feel that as we 'go it alone' a ballsy, imaginative thinker with an interesting life story might be a bit more useful than an uptight, sour fac...

Never mind. Don't want to derail a thread with my political opinions :)

Maybe it was the, now infamous, loose plug that fell out on to the damaged socket, maybe..

It is interesting that teenagers are supposed to select which subjects they wish to specialise in at school, before the basics of plug>socket are covered. They're actually taught pythagoras theorem by default, ahead of having sufficient knowledge of day to day stuff. Does this pupil need to know which is the nut, and which is the bolt? Nope - not until they have fully appreciated the works of Shakespeare!

I suppose the theory is that you don't need to know what is what, as you should be sensible and call a professional. But that's not going to be very useful in this case if the 'handyman' rocks up to replace a loose plug and discovers a loose socket!
