Hi all
I’ve a couple of questions about returning to the trade and thought I might ask you well informed people first.
Bit of background completed a four year apprenticeship in electrical engineering at a large industrial site back in the late 90’s. During this time I gained the following qualifications:
First year at college:-
NVQ level 2 engineering manufacture(foundation)-Basic elec.assembly,wiring & measurement
3C8B Electrical&electronic maintenance skills
BTEC national certificate engineering (Electrical/electronic)
Next 3 years on site & college day release:-
NVQ level 3 modules completed
J501-common core skills
J503-Electrical&electronic techniques
J521-identification&use of electrical components
J523-Electrical installation
G501-common core skills(electrical & electronic practices)
G504-electrical materials
G548 Vehicle starter systems
(Question 1. I cannot find my level 3 certificate, just a certificate showing I completed the above modules. Is that all I need for a level 3 qualification?)
HNC Engineering Electrical
After all that I got kept on and worked as a Breakdown& maintenance spark. About 20% of this job involved new installation work which I enjoyed more than the other stuff if I‘m honest. In 2003 I left and headed to the process industry and have been there ever since. The money and hours are better but involvement in the electrical side of things has dwindled as I’ve moved through the company. Now ,after nearly 9 years ,I want to get back into the sparks game., but more into the installation side of things.
What would you recommend me doing to get back and up to date, seeing as I’ve effectively been out of things for nearly 9 years
All advice greatly appreciated.
Cheers
