Self Employed Subbys Rates

Hi,was wondering what an average rate for subbys would be at the moment.I just took an offer of £13.75. Allot of offerd rates seem to have gone backwards these days.In 2006 i was getting £16.00 The JIB rate for 2010 is £14.35 on the books.Inflation is at about 4%.?????????????

have you got to pay your own tax, fuel, etc

Hey,It's CIS verified for 20% tax and I managed to get 15p a mile over 40 miles 1 way.

to be honest ive been paying £12.50 per hour self employed. just turn up with tool bag.

i did some SE subbing 12.50ph they suppied vehicle, fuel, digs an breakfast, £15 per night for evening meal, all i needed was tools and my own ppe and high vis
after 40 hours was time and half so £18.75 per hour and we were doing 12 - 7s

plus i got to keep all my reciepts so can put these through my books, digs were good, premier inn right on the seafront, showers in rooms were amazing and there was a beefeater attached to hotel so it was rib eye chips and a pint every night, all on the company, lots of hours but we were looked after

The days of £17-£20 for se subbies are gone for the moment,the ratbag agencies are only paying Jib max,and no doubl tme just enhanced rates.We will just have to go with it for now..

Was offered subby work for comp full time on £12 phr m-f £16ph sat and £18 phr sun working on british gas, homeserve and comp own contracts ! needs must at mo but managed to get part time and get my business cards out to the customers after i complete repairs etc leaving me time to work on own jobs. Also going to work on metering for them soon that gets loads of work offers in domestics so worth it.
