not checked the tiling forum yet but who knows!

I was on snow clearing duty one winter. It snowed a lot during the night, and i mean a lot, about 2 feet of the crap came down in about 6 hours. 4 am I get the wake up call for runway clearing. I arrive at the appointed time and my job was to point the nozzles at the snow and blow it away. The contraption was made of a wood hut type thing that i sat in, perched very dodgily between 2 Rolls Royce Derwent engines, on a frame, bolted to the front of a 4000 gallon bowser (refuelling truck) and plumbed into it for fuel. The bowser drives forward, and i vary the power and angle of the 2 engines just enough to clear the snow, but not too much to push the bowser backwards. If you got it just right you could clear the snow and ice, and dry the runway all in one go. I didnt get it right:o and as we came off the taxiway onto the pan I throttled it all up to clear a big lump of ice, the ice went 50 feet up into the air and had a large piece of tarmac attatched, and i hit the bullseye, straight through the senior engineering officers window, it took the frame and everything else with it. He wasnt at work luckily.
