Trev and I have worked a couple of times together and every time the job gets done to a great standard. We also have a good laugh.
Specially when some knacker (me) blew a hole in his sidecutters at Steve's mother's place :)

Naughty boy, why wasnt it isolated? XD

I thought it was, proof that safe iso is absolutely imperative.
It wouldn't be a circus without at least one clown though :)

What is the first step in safe isolation though?

Identify the circuit XD, everyone makes mistakes and its why its a good idea for a lot of the trainee's here to read a lot of threads so they learn how to avoid issues like this.

That's why I put my hands up to it Shanky, to show that even someone with 34 years experience under his belt can still make a mistake through complacenecy.
You can't be too careful with this stuff.

True ive had 1 shock and blew holes in 1 pair of snips.

The shock was off an old light in an attic while I was rolling out insulation.

Put my hand on the light to move it and bang, I even had to borrow a driver off the painter because I had nothing with me lol.

A neon screwdriver non the less that was ancient and in perfect condition

Not just yet lads, giving others the time to put in their entries and there are other issues to address, another month at least.

This has snow balled into a "competition" from a bit of fun of a "challenge". Certain rules need to be followed and talks with the competition sponsor with regards to judging and their timescale to be able to do so. One more month gives us all the time that is needed to do a good job of this and not just rush things and get it wrong, after all we are or will be Electricians, we never take short cuts or rush a job because it is the easy route.

Hopefully we get some more entries in that time :cool3:

I hope so as well Simon, but it is the end of the year fo you guys and have exams to do so time is an issue. Saying that, where are all the student exam questions? Have a word with some of your fellow students Simon, I think Mr. K is ok for his next exam

Yes busy busy, i have finished my assignments and just need to hand the last one in next week and do my initial verification/testing and fault finding on the same day then i am complete with the college work.

It will be nice to get it done. Then start revising to take the 2394/5 i reckon.

Who is Mr K by the way mate?

Here's one I did today (one of the first in a while!) nothing special, batten holder so plenty of space :)

Cheers all the same.

Resu, would you like to take Telectrix's advice and try again? Just a hint mate

This competition will be finishing within the next 2 weeks so be quick. I'll work with Test-Meter and we will have a winner.

I will try Paul but that was a rare situation! Second fixing a new build, in a cupboard under the stairs where the batten was mounted on the wall 400mm above the switch so rejigged it to have a wee go! Finished there today so won't be back unfortunately and doing EICRs the next couple of weeks!

Ignore that post, made it back today. How's this then?

Hmmm, those CPCs are a bit sloppy and the bends are not equal on the SL and Ns. That right hand PL could do with straightening out a bit. 3/10.

Seriously though, nice job mate :)

**** Competition closed *****

Photo's sent to Test-Meter to judge. Winner to be announced once they have had time to look through them all and post up a winner. Good luck.
