Is anyone in here involved with NVQ's/education etc?

Im looking for anyone who has got any information on the new AM2(c) test?

What are you wanting to know? I'm at the college where I'm doing my NVQ etc. on Monday doing my 18th exam, I'll probably bump into a tutor or two so could ask questions :)

I want to know if there is any information on the criteria for the new AM2. I've literally just found out it's called AM2s. Not AM2c.

The college don't have any information on when the centres will start this and what the centres will require learner's to demonstrate.

Thanks sparkychick

You're welcome.

From the looks of it, it's mainly about when you can sit the AM2S (i.e. the qualifications you need in place before hand), and the AM2S includes two containment tasks for which additional time is allowed.

Edit:-

For example, I couldn't take the AM2S because I don't have the either of those particular Level 3 quals.

AM2S is the end-point assessment for the new apprenticeship standard (Trailblazer). It should not be used for anyone on the old apprenticeship framework or undertaking the Mature Candidate Assessment

AM2S is not available as a stand-alone assessment outside of the apprenticeship. It will only be recognised by the JIB for an ECS card when taken as part of an industry apprenticeship.
AM2 is the assessment of competence for the apprenticeship framework and Mature Candidate Assessment.
It should not be used for students undertaking the new apprenticeship standard (Trailblazer) and will not be accepted as the end-point assessment for the standard.

The first part suggests there’s a new Apprenticeship (trailblazer) ? And that the am2s is not for those on the old scheme/Apprenticeship?

What’s this trailblazer Apprenticeship?
