Alright guys. Im 19 and i have just finished college doing my 2365 level 2,3 and 17th edition. i have had one years and a half's worth of experience but because i cant seem to find work at all. i have a megger mft 1553 and tools

I got offerd a 5.5k lone by the job center and they said for the first year you pay back £9 a month. i was thinking should i go for it? at the moment i don't have much money due the lack of work. i have tryed applying for everywhere but no luck...

the plan is to get my driving lessons , van and my testing and inspection 2394,5 qualifications for roughly £500 total. i can do CCTV systems + learning alarm systems and Most domestic work so i might be able too odd jobs and work for someone as an electricians mate.

what are your views off my current situation

try indeed job search. they send you alerts for jobs in your area. put in "electrician's mate, merseyside".

You need a driving Licence, oh and lose the Chip.

No I can't say as I noticed a chip on his shoulder either? Am I missing the obvious?

Do you think i should get the 5.5k lone? I have just enough money to pay bills and no job because they all require a car. I cant exactly get a lone of my family due to money issues

But i can do CCTV,alarms, computer repair on my own and domestic sparky work + also find work as an electricians mate

Definitely no chip, that is an unfair and unhelpful comment! (Trolling)

The situation you find yourself in is very unfortunate and a common one for lads your age..
Have you done your AM2, qualified spark?
most important is having you'd trade card, more important than a driving license!
I see so many blokes on sites that have no driving license..
Have a look round your area and see what building sites there is, find out who the electrical contractor is and offer your services for free, based on a weeks trial..

Its good to see a teenager with some ambition. You can see what you need to do to be where you want.. get your driving done it will open up so many doors.. once you find employment get your NVQ progressing then finally your am2. Im interested to know if you had to pay for your 17th edition ? As i spent 4 years training to those regs i wasnt going to go out there and spend £400 on a 4 day course when i have always adhered to that edition but i know of so many apprentices that get drawn in and paying it after they complete their apprenticeship. Your on the right track tho. Might be an idea putting yourself out there for some volunteer work. If your not working at the moment it cant hurt. Might even get your foot in the door to somewhere good

Get an ECS card aswell if you havent already. Definetly needed. Cost around £40 i think

try industrial area's. best place, get esc card , and that loan maybe good for the first year, but how much do it go up after the year

what part of Merseyside are you in?

The lone what???

Star?

Warrior?

Spark??? :)

ranger, you daft geriatric geordie.

a fine piece of alliteration , even if i do say so myself.

I wouldn't go on your own straight away, go out there and earn 10 years experience first, move around learn different things, You won't look very good in front of a client if you haven't got a clue what you've been asked to do.

That's sound advice
