Hello All

Iam installing a Small 8kva UPS we are ruuning a 50A supply to a sub board in the comms room where the UPS is then we we supply the UPS from that sub board.

When testing Continuity R1 R2 on a 3 phase supply can i just test from the live conductors to earth 1 ant a time and note the highest reading or is it easier to either link the L1 L2 L3 together.

Also iam not to keen in carrying out an IR test on the CCT supplying the UPS could i put this down as LIM and carrying out an IR test on the new supply cable supplying the new sub board.

Thanks

James

Do your continuity on each phase separately, if you think about it you will work out why you shouldn't do them all connected together.

You should IR the complete circuit before you wire the UPS into it.
