So I recently completed a 4 year apprenticeship, EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and HNC in Electronic and Electrical and now a qualified technician and got the job. I work with a lot of electromechanical equipment (conveyors mostly) but despite learning about electrical wiring, PLCs, 3 phase, contactors, motors etc much of the work is more mechanical (bearings, rollers etc). Occasionally I get to use some more electrical work but there's an automation team who deal with the good stuff. I'm at the point where I feel my employer is satisfied with what I have and that's that, but of course, looking at other jobs, I don't think there's anyway that I'd be considered electrically qualified, and personally don't feel my electrical skills are up to par, with many looking for C&G training, 18th edition, etc.

I've looked at 2365 courses and it's possible but also costs money and will require me going straight from work to college which is okay but I want to get some answers from people who might be in the industry and what I might really go for. I see that 18th edition and inspection and testing courses are like one week courses which seem like easy wins but will that pair up with my qualifications I have in an employers eyes and how much electrical work would I be able to do?
