Hello,

Our landlord recently installed a PulsaCoil ST 180 water heater into our flat and we were told it would be much cheaper for us to run.
However, our smart meter is showing that we are spending over £3 a night heating it (nothing else is on). We are on Economy 7 and our night rate is 24.94p.
I am wondering if something is potentially wrong with it as it seems like quite a lot of money for something brand new? Smart meter is fairly new so have been told it may be potentially inaccurate but want to check all bases before we get hit with a monster bill.

Thank you in advance for any help :)

Heating 180 litres of water from 5 degrees to 65 degrees will use just over 12 units of electricity.
At 24.9p/unit (seems expensive compared to mine), that will cost £3.02, so your figure is about right if you are emptying the store during the day.
