When doing my figure of 8 on the ring circuit to get my r1 + r2 value i get 0.18 at the db. But at the socket outlets when using plug in lead for megger the results are varying at sockets up to about 1.8 ohms. However when i screw the faceplates off and use the leads in the terminals inside the readings are all ok (0.18). Zs results all under 100 ohms on tt system. Does anyone think the sockets should be replace as they are not getting good readings thru them? I thik they be fine as zs is ok but whats everyone ekse thinking ?

just some resistance in the socket, switch/contacts. don't worry.

Yeah as a rule of thumb we always test from the terminals inside , unless you have a proper plug in lead for that type of socket.
