I wonder if anyone has any information on companies job-sites and so on relating to contract work either world wide or ideally in Asia.

I am most interested in oil companies and a like.

I am qualified electrician with both industrial, domestic and street works experience.

I am currently located in south East Asia and view traveling to a site as no problem providing the wages are there.

I really would appreciate any pointers

If you dont mind being shot at, DynCorp International have a lot of electrical positions vacant at the mo.

Work on army bases is dangerous buddy:(. That and I think there was a problem with payment.

lollol Quote from dynocorp web site

Physical Requirements:
Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions. STUFF that

Leaving camp quickly when RPGs and morters are flying no doubt

Just had a look at the website but no mention of money for the Kandahar work. Any idea of a ball park figure?

Can you tell me a little about the work mate. What it involves, measures taken for your security, are you given side arms etc.

Would you trust an electrician with a side arm :D:D sure they'll issue you with a Stanley knife should scare them sufficiently :D

Just to let you all know i have been to kandahar and the motar alarms are every week, civillian contractors are not armed, and have no need to be, conditions are cramped, but the market on saturday is good if you like dvd's and the gyms are good.

is 16th editition enough to get u across to these war zones, wot companies r taking on at the minute, and how much would i expect minimum a week?

Don't you worry about getting your head cut off with a bread knife? Only thing that puts me off!!
