Discuss Contractor Forum for Electrical Contractors in the Australia area at ElectriciansForums.net

Hi, I am a self employed electrician and have been in the industry for 50 years, I work with an electrician who used to be my apprentice and is now fully qualified up to the 18th edition regs, we have worked together for the last 20 years self employed on a fifty fifty basis, that is paying for materials, and all expenses and payment from jobs is split the same. We both file separate tax returns, as I am now looking to semi retire and am only now qualified to 17th edition regs can we still work on this basis.

as I am now looking to semi retire and am only now qualified to 17th edition regs can we still work on this basis.

can't see any reason why not.

Thank you, I wanted to make sure it was ok on a legal basis, he is niceic registered, so test sheets and results are checked and signed by him, we always work together on jobs, so it's kind of a role reversal, he is now more qualified.
Cheers

sounds an ideal situ. your experience coupled with his quals and niceic, fly on the wall on one of your jobs,,,,,,, is it Morecombe and Wise? ???

It's good working with someone you can trust and get on with, worked with him on the same company for years before self employment, I'm down to three day week now, which is great, would miss the banter you get on site if I gave it up completely.
Like the pink floyd lyrics, my era !!

Like the pink floyd lyrics, my era !!
Overhead the albatross
Hangs motionless upon the air
And deep beneath the rolling waves
In labyrinths of coral caves
The echo of a distant time
Comes willowing across the sand
And everything is green and submarine
