That dimmer shows a minimum load of 60W, you have 20 & 30W on the two dimmers so yes it's too low.

cant dim led lamps
Not always true. The lamps in questions are stated to be dimmable. There can be compatibility issues though with certain combinations of lamp and dimmer.

Did the electrician supply all the gear ?

Personally my opinion of LAP is what it rhymes with, CRAP.

try a V-Pro led dimmer module instead and BELL 5w or 6w dimmable lamps at approx £5.80 each. The dimmer has a little adjuster so that you can set the min level.

i only fit quality gear and never have problems.

the alternative is to rip the can and lamp out and fit JCC FGLED 10 downlights as they are top notch and you can dim them to a point of virtually off.

everyone knocks LAP accessories, but i've seen worse. for the price, they're not too bad and it's a p-o-p to nip the nearest screwfux to swap any duff gear.

Thanks for all the replies!

yes, the electrician supplied it all. It flickers but very subtly.

I'm no expert I'm afraid so not sure if it's 'trailing edge' etc. Would rather not replace the bulbs as they're the same throughout my entire flat.

As one gang of the dimmer controls 6 of these, the other 4, what should I be looking for in the dimmer? I don't always have both sides on, so do I need one to be able to cope with the lowest load (which would be 20w)?

Thank you for all the help. Really appreciate it.

best advice is to get the electrician back to replace the dimmer/s with ones that don't cause the problem.

Get the spark back as he supplied the gear and his problem

quite simple really. if you can't fix it with a hammer ( for wood butchers) or a monkey wrench (for wet-pants), call an electrician.

Nothing wrong with LAP stuff. You need a trailing edge dimmer like the one hippyhappy suggested. Ive just used LAP bulbs with exactly that dimmer, worked a treat. Obviously not a leading edge sparky.

+1 for Trailing edge dimmer.

Screw fix have them but comes fitted to plastic faceplate, you can try to swap the module with the one in your metal one. They're made by Varilight, and range from £10 to £40 depending on how many gangs. Also have different settings on them for min/max brightness and different types of LED lamps.
