Hi I’m curious about how common eddy currents are in lighting circuits run in galv conduit. When would this ever be a problem? I can vaguely remember someone saying about taking a neutral to the switches for this reason but from my understanding on a switch, the line flux will cancel out the switched line flux if running down the same bit of conduit?

It won't be a problem as you said they run in opposite directions so cancel out.

Also at the current levels for lighting circuits I can't see it being an issue.

I believe it is more of an issue at higher currents, but stand to be corrected.
