A very vague, general question I'm afraid.

I will be starting a complete refurb in a few weeks and the customer can't decide whether to fit a new gas combi boiler or go for an electric unit.

There is gas installed in the building.

The refurbishment is extensive so running circuits and cables will be really easy!

Thanks for your input in advance chaps.

If there is gas I would advise the customer to have a gas boiler installed. Will be cheaper to run and service in the long run. If the house is big or lots of rads and big hot water requirement I wouldn't install a combi. Imo a pressurised cylinder and a heat only boiler beats a combi hands down.

I would stay with gas. Cheaper to run.

The first thing to look at is the price per kilowatt of gas and electric this may give you the answer you are looking for. I did look at it for a customer a few years ago and even installing the gas supply it was going to run out cheaper after a few years than the electric option

Totally agree with Lee's comments; a no brainer in my view.
