They’re not for bootlace ferrules.
They are for uninsulated crimps.

I know what it says.
The shape of the jaws is the same as for uninsulated crimps.
So a terminal screw can be tightened or loosened by an uninsulated screwdriver or an insulated screwdriver....... just come back from lunch.....

i'd hate to use my bottom to crimp ferrules. it can't even stop farts.

I'd have to agree with Spinlondon the profiles of those Jameson the image are the same as for JST terminals maybe the description is accurate but stock photo isn't

A lot of people I work with have the Weidmüller ferrule crimpers which have the same jaws as the second jaw profile
Or a rotating one size fits all up to 6mm

However they would probably crimp bootlaces ferrules possibly a bit too flat for smaller terminals though

I use the basic knipex pliers type which go from 0.5 up to 16mm as there's nothing to go wrong with them
Plus they're lighter which is a factor for me as we work abroad a lot

You must be a bundle of laughs at parties...... ;o))))

I have this one, it's certainly not cheap but I love it. Dies for the ferrules are sold separately so would cost about £500

I'v found these to be much better: crimps all around the bootlace not just on one side.
That's the style I use. I prefer the way it squeezes the ferrule all around into a nice even square which, to me at least, seems to give a good even grip on the cable.

The one I posted above crimps into a hexagon, it has six jaws, which to me gives a much better and even distribution of the individual strands in the cable.
