Hi.
i have a application where I need to run 2.3 kW (2300 watts) for up to 2 hours continuous. It will need to be a 12 or 24 volt inverter.
What size lead acid batteries in ah will I require to get this power from a suitable inverter.
a generator cannot be used due to noise and location.
Any sums and formulas to work this out would be very helpful.
Many thanks.

2300 / 12 = 191.66 x 2 = 383.33ah

2300 / 24 = 95.83 x 2 = 196.66ah

You would need 400ah 12V or 200ah 24V minimum. Ask inverter manufacturer about compensating for loses.

pretty much as above. ideally a 200AH battery, but allowing for losses and reduction in volts on low battery, at least a 300AH.
