Hi all

Just new to testing and inspection so can you help me.

When you need the maximum Zs for a circuit do you use the overcurrent device for the entire installation(ie bs 88 cartridge fuse) or would you use the breaker for the individual circuit when using the tables in the on site guard to get the maximum value.

secondly what do you do if you come across a cartridge fuse that isnt listed in the onsite guide or any other refrence book. The eic sheets ask for the overcurrent device, bsen number then the type. In my house it is a bs88 type Q. I cant find this listed in the guide books so what would i do if i needed to fill in the forms and get maximum values etc.

look forward to your replies.

Thanks

The protective device for the circuit you're testing, for example, the B32 MCB supplying a ring final, B6 MCB supplying a lighting circuit etc.

try googling the breaker size not got regs to check if fuse type is there are you sure its not in book not come across one that isnt in reqs

When using the tables for Max Zs you look up the protective device for the circuit you are testing. Not the main protevtive device.
