Hi everyone
how can we put metal switches in a flat where there is no earth showing in the metal boxes and no earth from the light fittings in to the boxes. The fittings are earthed but we cannot get to the boxes from there. We haven't been able to check the boxes if they are earthed using the metal conduit. If they are not then can we put metal switches or not. Thanks

You can't, you need to get an electrician to test to see if the conduit has been used as a cpc. I doubt it has.

Need to check if the conduit has earth continuity, if so then yes but a cpc will be required to the metal front plate from the back box. Have the boxes actually got earth terminals.

i wandered about that.

As above you need to check for continuity.
