HOT WORKS PERMIT PETEWhen I was nearly out of my time I was working with an Electrician on a housing site, first job in the morning was to look for oil drum and off cuts of timber, at about 09:45 get a fire going in the drum, after knocking air holes in it to toast or butties, remember no doors or windows int these houses yet, like you say difficult to get up after all that comfort.

Well I have to say I am certainly glad I did the C course Dave set me up for some good jobsI started to do the C Dave but I didn't enjoy the theory [95% of which you'd never look at again in a working lifetime] then I crashed my motorbike when a woman pulled out in front of me and broke a wrist and ankle which helped get me out of it.
Did you ever regret not doing it? I know several of my past colleagues who did, just out of interest.Yes it would give more opportunities Pete, at the time it wasn't for me though.

Someone who done one of these 18 day short courses certainly couldn't get one.
You may have spoken too soon by the looks of the article in this months NICEIC / ELECSA propaganda literature (Page 8)
You only need to have passed three NICEIC (assume DI is included) or Elecsa assessments as a QS to qualify for a JIB Gold card!
I haven't read it mate. Surely that's just to add QS on to your card which you must meet the criteria to get?
