Hi there,

My apologies for posting here, but i cannot seem to post in the DIY forum. I wondered if I could ask some for some advice.

As a trial a while back, I replaced one Halogen MR16 light with a 5W LED bulb with appropriate LED driver. The bulb has worked well and now prices are a lot less i think its time to migrate the remaining over.

Now, the led driver i used has two cords so i would like to make use of the second cord, so my questions are:

1. Is it possible to get a longer MR16 cord as the cord provided with the driver is way too short to reach the next light in the ceiling
2. Should I remove the cable for the second light from the lighting rose or is it ok to leave it up in the celing connected. Obviously less hassle if i don't have to go rooting around in the ceiling but don't want to do something that is dodgy.

Or should i just accept buying a driver for each light (seems a shame if you can buy drivers that can serve multiple lights).

Many thanks once again

Welcome to the forum. I've given you access to the DIY forum and moved your question there for you.

i'd be more inclined to remove the transformers and fit GU10 LEDs, obviously would beed to replace the lamp hoder for GU10 as well, but then you don't have the cost of drivers to worry about.

The GU10 route may well be easier as Tell suggests but there can be earthing issues that mean you can't just retrofit with GU10 so it would be best to get assistance from an electrician to ensure the end result is safe.
