Over the coming months I'll be working hard to get you guys some business coming in, and getting you some good deals on things you buy. One of the first things, which is one of the more simple but effective ones, is the new Find an Electrician Directory. Please feel free to add your business free of charge.

We've done this on tilersforums.co.uk (linky) and it's already ranking for most county's, once there are enough listings, we'll add cities.

Other things we have coming include Van Leasing / Sales setup where we do a group-buy kinda thing and get the vans cheaper. And then also insurance, of all types, where I have taken nearly no commission to ensure they discount the deals.

Just put mine up.

Is there any time limit on editing your entry in this forum? Is there a time limit on the other forums?

You can add to your listing by replying to it, as if it's an actual thread kinda thing. So you can add jobs and more info etc.
I should be able to set a separate time limit though I'd have thought somewhere.

Time limit on editing posts in the main forums depends on your rank/user group. Trusted Advisors should have 24 hours, arms members 20 minutes or something. It's to stop people saying one thing, people quoting it, then them changing it and causing arguments about it. Not something we've had on here for years because of those settings. If anything important needs changing in the details area and you're stuck, let me know and I'll do it. But your actual phone number and web address etc should be permanently editable anyway. You can even delete your own listing etc.

For the Directory only, it would be worth setting an unlimited time for editing as businesses change and it would save having outdated info visible.

Also, suggest deleting the 'Sussex' county. It no longer exists. Now split into East Sussex and West Sussex.

Yeah I hear you. Priority is getting some listings in it, then I can optimise the categories and get some links to them etc, which worked a bloody treat on tilersforums.

First page for all the following (if not more)
https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=tilers+in+cheshire
https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=tilers+in+avon - Ranking #1
https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sour...on=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=tilers+in+bedfordshire
https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sour...n=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=tilers+in+staffordshire

Couple of examples.

Noted on the Sussex thing.

Come on people, are there only 25 electricians in England now, and only 1 in Lancashire. I'm buggered if I want some work done then.

Yep, please put your info in the directory. It just looks wrong at the moment....

I'd like to post in my county directory but it is not there.
I live in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
What is listed is the county of Humberside which ceased to exist some 2 decades ago, and the counties of North Humberside and South Humberside which to my knowledge never even existed.
Also absent are the counties of North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire.
You also have Cumberland and Westmorland listed which haven't existed since 1974, and Avon which got made defunct in 1996.
