hey chaps, simple enough I think but....

went to check an old dears outside light, 500W halogen, as it wasn't working. Anyways all it turned out to be was duff lamp :rolleyes:

but, wiring wise, it seems it's been fed off ring via FCU fused down to 3A so all fine there. 1.5mm T&E to small IP box externally where its joined to what seems to be 0.75mm rubber cable (assuming pond stuff) using a bit choc block. This cable seems to be rated at 6A so it can handle load and will prob withstand external influences but can you "step down" cable CSA like that??
