Sorry about that!!!

So, if you want to re-upload your pics then great, if not, give us something new!

Cheers!!

I did the board for a customer a while back who has a very busy house, kids running round etc, the board is like i said belts and braces but i discussed the options with the them and this is what they opted for.

As for terminating lol it was interesting :)

Hope you connected those functional RCBO earths in with the CPC of each circuit and not just lumped them together in there own earth terminal on the earth bar?? lol!!....

Also a perfect example of when to use crimped ferrules on all those neutral leads...lol!!

Engineer54 give me some credit my man!! will get you a pic as soon as i can find the folder on my PC lol

agree with crimped ferrules, definatly needed on neutral and especially cpc fly leads off RCBO, so easy to tear through strands , i didn't have any on me when doing the install but will be popping back to do them.

OK, OK i will, i will ...lol!! But i can't tell you how many times i've seen that done!! lol!!

I even had to do that myself once, temporally anyway. The wholesaler gave me a split CU (had 3 old rewireable CU's to convert for him) shells, which i didn't notice at the time, that didn't have enough terminals on the earth bar and neutral bars, so had to wait for conversion kits... just as well i was doing a favour for a good friend, Anyway all got sorted eventually.. lol!!

I have an installation that my local council state is safe, I can fit 2 fingers all the way in on both sides fully and place 9 fingers all into the consumer unit down to my knuckles, is it not the rule anything bigger than a pen does meet regulations? what makes this worse is my 2 year old nephew has direct access to the consumer unit because of a broken door!

Get on to them asap, explain the situation and stress the point about your nephew. They should send someone round licketysplit

Thanks trev1 they sent someone round covered up main holes to the bottom,
however there is still a hole along the top Im not totally happy but catch is on the door now so at least the cupboard door shuts, they say they are in talks with the manufacturer and will inform me of the outcome, everyone on the estate is in similar circumstances though, you just have to hope no one is seriously injured over this, I have informed a local councillor who is taking the matter further, thx

can't fault that work looks spot on.
Sorry Mike99 are you talking about hands in the consumer unit?
if so how is the work spot on? Surely if every flat on this estate has similar CU then someone should have been asking the same question I have, how and who has been passing these electrical installations, If the council are already in talks with the manufacturers it is already a matter they are concerned with and something they need to put right.

This is the first recessed type board that i'v done.

These are pictures of a rewire we did for a client, we communicated only by email as he was living in nottinghamshire and the property was in huddersfield. He wanted to be able to isolate all the kitchen appliances from 1 point in the kitchen and the angled socket was fixed there as the window was pretty much the full length of the back wall.
