A few years ago I fitted a new doorbell, wireless...
It rang randomly, and eventually I discovered my neighbour across the road had bought a similar one...very annoying that when they had visitors, our bell rang.
A quick flick of the micro switches inside sorted it.
Once upon a time, my doorbell was a bell that was wired to a switch on the outside of the doorframe, powered by a 1289 battery...it worked fine for ever...
Progress, eh?
If you want to do the same try here RVFM KPMB-2606L 6V Electronic Buzzer with 20cm Lead - https://www.rapidonline.com/Catalogue/Product/35-3588I once fitted a door bell consitsting of a PP9 battery bell push and a transitorised buzzer, got called out to it 18 years later, not working due to bell push corrosion, and had to scrape the push again after another 8 years. How long would a modern fancy one last?
years ago, went to a customer to carry out an annual service on the intruder alarm. nice new uPVC door and frame with a shiny new brass bell push. pressed the bell push ( as you do) and got the worst belt i've ever experienced. keys in my hand went over into next door's garden. investigation found the the door fitters had not noticed that the old bakelite push had 240V going through it. so fitted customer a ELV battery bell. ever since then i've pressed a metal push with a VDE screwdriver.
Yes...she invented the arc lamp...(or at least something that burned brightly...)joan of arc had voices in her head and look what happened to her.
