Hi folks, thanks for having this forum on the Web! I read up a bit on the following but still have a question about main to subpanel grounding:

I have the main panel mounted on a telephone pole just below the electric meter that feeds my home. I also have a small wood framed building (I call it a cabin). I installed an electrical panel in the cabin and fed 4 runs of THHN through SCH 40 conduit. My question is which ground cable do I need to use at the cabin subpanel; the earth ground wire from the pole mounted main box or from a grounding rod sunk in at the cabin? Also, do I need to unbound the ground bar in the subpanel box?

First off you need to bond the main panel on the pole. You said you pulled 4 wires to the cabin panel so you will have 2 hots a neutral, one neutral and an equipment ground. Yes you need to unbond the cabin panel. No ground rod is required at your sub panel
