I want to replace 4 x 12v dichromic ceiling mounted downlights, with 4 LED Downlights (similar size and fitting).

Currently, a switch supply goes to a 12v transformer. The transformer has four 12v oulets, one to each downlight.

To replace this arrangement, I have purchased 4 x Aurora M7 240v downlights. These do not require a driver and come complete with Aurora's FastFix connectors.

My question is:

  1. Should I extend my feed and provide a connector block for each light. The connector block would provide a short 'spur' to the light's connector and then run the feed on to the next connector until the end of the lighting run
  2. Can I use the Aurora's connector and simply loop the feed from one light to the next?
I appreciate that both options provide the effectively the same topology, but I would like to follow 'best practice'.

Finally, can I run standard 1.5mm Twin&Earth to each light connector, or do I/should I use a particular type of cable (e.g. fire/heat resistent)?

Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

YOU CAN RUN t/e INTO EACH FITTING, BUT YOU MIGHT FIND IT A STRUGGLE TO GET 2 IN THE SMALL TERMINAL ENCLOSURE. I PREFER TO FIT A WAGO BOX, LINE PRODUCTS "EGG" OR CLICK CONNECTOR AT EACH FITTING, USING A 9" LENGTH OF FLEX TO THE FITTING.

oops, sorry for the caps lock.
