Hi all
I'm just a DIYer, not a trained sparky. The triple light switch in my kitchen was making a ticking noise. By elimination, I found it was the middle switch. I didn't like a switch making a noise, so I just replaced it, only to find that the new switch also makes a ticking noise and again, it's the middle one that makes the sound. Ticking stops when you switch the light off.
Q1 - is this a sign of something potentially dangerous ie a fire risk?
Q2. What the hell is making the noise?
Q3. Should I replace with yet another switch?
The one that ticks switches 4 LEDs in a ceiling fixture. An identical fixture with another 4 LEDs is connected to another of the switches, while the 3rd switch controls two halogen lamps on top of kitchen cupboards
Thanks for any advice. It seems crazy to have to get one of you professionals to come in just for one switch, but I will if you think I should. These are not dimmer switches by the way. I know about leading edge/trailing edge issues with dimmers for LEDs

Hi Telectrix, sorry to hear you're still working over Xmas. Thanks for quick reply - how much would you charge to call in to Nantwich?
for an initial call, on my way to another job, i'd only charge about £20 for a "look-see".

Sounds like a goodun for novelty and investigation
