As per the title is there technically an issue with having a 2 gang light switch with one switch on the lighting circuit and the other on a ring circuit (via an FCU). The ceiling light is on the light circuit and the wall lights are on the ring circuit.

This isn't something I would personally recommend or install, but that I came across.

Wouldn't hurt to put a dymo label at the consumer unit, just to warn people. Just because it's not something you see very often.

To try and protect the muppet who doesn't follow full safe isolation and just isolates the lighting mcb. Although I agree that they should notice the differing csa's within the switch box, however isn't it our job to try to safeguard against idiotic possibilities.

Nothing wrong with a label, a bit of information can be helpful at times! Was at a large commercial installation the other day, there was a note in the DB stating where the photocell was positioned on the outside of building. Yes I would have found it eventually, but just saves a bit of time.
As you say, the uneducated will not know what it means and those that are, will.

The conductors are the same size.

You may disagree with me and that's your decision, but as far as I know BS 7671 doesn't dictate what colors to use in multi core cables so why bother, over a decade since the colors changed do we need to warn people?

Anyone messing with electrics doesn't need to know this, many sparks don't bother over sleeving sl or neutrals ...

Us in the know have the knowledge and equipment to check ... If DIYers don't have the knowledge or equipment to check then it's their risk ..
