Purchased a Logitech Powered Wireless Charging Stand for iPhone but because it is a discontinued item the only source I could obtain one was from EU. Consequently, it is only supplied with a two-prong mains plug. It delivers up to 7.5W charging to the iPhone.
What type of 2-pin to 3-pin Adapter do I need to use safely in a normal UK mains socket? Presumably, the normal 'Shaver-type' Adapter is unsuitable [inadequately rated?].
The stand is a gift for my daughter and I don't want to do anything that is unsafe. Any guidance on what sort of Adapter I need would be great.
I've never seen a phone charger with a Schuko plug (which is earthed). 99% of chargers will be 2-pin Europlug. The question is whether it has a flex to a normal Europlug, or whether it's a 'wall-wart' style power adaptor built into the plug.
In either case the best method is to fit a permanent plug converter that locks on and becomes part of the unit. These are made to BS5733 and the P&SSR, and when fitted enable EU goods to be sold in the UK in full compliance with the LVD.
