Called to a house where he had a 4-pin push fit fluorescent lamp in ceiling.
He said he changed bulb with brand new one but still isn't working. I teased the bulb sort of half way out and it lit up but when let go it went off again.
Is there a fault with these or is there a pin you can adjust inside? Or should I just replace the whole unit with a standard drop?

Thanks in advance for the help

Those are low energy pendants designed to help compliance with the energy saving requirements of the building regulations.
When the lamp is removed the power is disconnected to help prevent accidental shock, it is possible that this feature has inadvertently remained engaged.
Unfortunately it is not generally worth trying to repair such items and a standard pendant (with a supplied a low energy (CFL) lamp ) would be the easiest alternative.
