Evening lads. Will soon be getting a new van (Citroen Dispatch) and am keen to kit her out with some decent storage and racking. In the past have always cobbled up something a bit unimpressive with roof laths and plywood. Would like something a bit more upmarket and would appreciate any advice, recommendations or tips on how to make best use of the space. Have always liked those pull out racks, if anyone out there has any thoughts on that. Have a pleasant evening!

If you don't want to go the full custom route, check out ebay - there are plenty of older installs that have been taken out of a van, as well as several companies making wooden custom made racks in various sizes.

In my Connect, I have some Tevo drawers acquired from a friend, and a wooden drawer in thick ply like this that has lasted well (seems to have gone up significantly in price since I got mine 7 years ago though). Then an assortment of wooden boxes and bits that fit the space and change as I decide what to carry and not.

I still have one of those pull out racks installed with the plastic "bins" with drop down fronts, that came from a BT van I believe, but I've found I never use it and it just gets in the way. Either there is too much in there to pull it out, or I've parked where there isn't enough space even if I wanted to.

I love to make it myself as then it works for me exactly how I want it to....it evolves ?
I agree... If you buy 'standard' racking... you really need to then sort you kit out to fit that racking.

For me... I laid out everything that I wanted to carry, then built the racking to accommodate it. Works a treat... although it does take some time to make a nice job of it and keep the weight down.
