Hi, is it acceptable practice to spur off an existing 20A D P switch to provide an additional single socket adjacent to this very switch? (The D P switch serves an existing 2-gang socket for a washer and a dryer).
Thanks in advance.

What is the rating of the MCB or RCBO in your consumer unit that supplies this switch?

I don't think it's great practice to have a washer and dryer on a double socket ,I've seen a few burnt out sockets .if it's wired in a ring then you would have 3 cables squeezed into the input terminals of dp switch making four in total ,unless its a radial of course then you would have to check size of mcb /rcbo if it is a ring could you not split it .
