Hi

my name is Greg I am 24 from Otley (near Leeds & Bradford) and new to this site. I have passed my C&G 2330 Level 2 & 3 Tech Certificates. And I am booked in to do my BS 7671 17th edition course soon. I also have 9 months work experience.

I know an apprenticeship would be the best route to take to gain all the relevant experience I need to become a fully bonafide electrician. Unfortunately as most people will know, it is becoming even more difficult to obtain an apprenticeship as I am getting a bit old now as most apprenticeship agencies are telling me they won’t put me on their books because I am nearly 25 (apart from JTL & BEST).

I am wondering what the best course of action is maybe do some more college work any advice on which course that could help me gain employment as a Semi-skilled electrician or improver with a firm or qualified electrician.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Many Thanks

Greg
