Hi there, I'm just after a little advice.

I'm about to start this course (C&G Electrical Installation Level 3). I completed LVL2 earlier this year. On he courses info page it says that once I complete the course I can go onto 'a work based Electrical Installation NVQ Level 3 programme which leads to a full qualification and qualifies you as a skilled Electrician'. I wan't to know if this is the only route to becoming fully qulaified? Do I have to take this course before going onto the NVQ or can I go straight to the NVQ with qualifications I have now? I'm finding it all confusing...

Hi mate,

If you want to get qualified in the eyes of the JIB you would need the the level 3 which you are starting and also the NVQ aswell. Bear in mind that to do the NVQ you need to be working in the industry to cover the units. This would get you a JIB gold card.

Thanks, I've been scanning the forum. So it seems that without being in the industry, it makes the most sense to take this course and then get a work placement and do the NVQ/AM2?
