If you're a qualified, trainee, or retired electrician - Which country is it that your work will be / is / was aimed at?
United Kingdom
What type of forum member are you?
DIY or Homeowner (Perhaps seeking pro advice, or an electrician)
I am (hopefully) creating some walkway lights for my garden. Probably six 12 Volt downlighters .
Being garden lights I would prefer not to have 240V cables hanging around - one fox died having chewed through an earlier installation, so would be happier using 12volt LED lights.
The problem I face though is I would want a PIR to trigger the lights - one at each end of the walkway.
I can think of one way to do this but once again it would require that I run a 240V cable to the furthest PIR.
Is there a feasible work around ?
Any recommended lights ??
Any advice greatly appreciated

Could be a job for Quinetic?
A wireless switch receiver on the mains supply:
Then 2x Quinetic (battery) PIR detector, one each end of the string of lights:

Alternatively you could do it with Philips Hue garden lights (low voltage) and their RF PIR's (battery), wifi bridge and app. All at enormous expense! (Or maybe some cheap equivalent?)

That's interesting
Are these units mains powered or something else ?

The Quinetic receiver switch is mains, and the wireless PIR detectors are battery (which lasts for ages!)
You can add one or more light switches which are kinetic, self generating. Not mains or battery.

Think I under stand the operation of the Quietic units now.
But I have contacted TLC re the Quinetic products with a question.

"My concern is; would triggering the 2nd PIR turn off the lights or continue the “ON” function ?"
Imagine the scenario. I leave the studio and PIR #1 turns on the lights … as I approach the PIR#2 will this also turn the lights on OR turn them off ?
Obviously I want the lights on the walkway illuminated whilst walking along it and not to turn off as I approach the second PIR."

Good point
I hope you get an informed answer.
It might be that the dual receiver switch, with first PIR paired with one channel, and the other PIR paired with the other, might overcome that potential problem.
Based on the data sheet link on the bottom left of the PIR page on TLC website:

I wouldn't bother with Quinetic. They are Tuya-based Chinese devices that have been rebranded. You may as well go to Aliexpress, where there are plenty of Tuya devices to choose from, and for a fraction of the cost.
