Discuss Data and fibre courses in the Computer and Networking Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

BICSI is the industry standard. Not many have the qualifactions current though as you have to keep attending courses to stay current

Also as mentioned the C&G fibre course is good. Although it will take more than a few courses to become a specialist in Fibre Install/Diagnostics.

I got what you said about the data course. But what is fiber ? What are the sessions that it covers?

Instead of copper, a lot of Data comms work now involves Fibre Optic cabling, you would need to learn how to fusion splice fibre, and or polish on connectors.

The fibre splice/test kit is quite expensive to buy. I work on/offshore splicing fibre and installing copper for Oil companies.
