Went to do an EICR this morning and was presented with this.

Obviously at one time the lighting cable was in one of the consumer unit ways with a five amp fuse but when they installed the shower they had no spare ways.So they just moved it over onto the socket fuse, left the 1.0mm lighting cable in and took it to a fused spur.
I am going back on Friday to fit a new metal clad RCBO consumer unit with enough spare ways.

To be honest there are a lot of good people out there but its sometimes just the finishing touches that irk me, I paid a lot for a build in SW6 but the over tightening of the 3.5mm screws on the blank faceplate that distorts and bends it ever so slightly inwards that its not flush with the wall bugs me but maybe I am just being pedantic. I need to cure my OCD. apologies for the thread drift.

Something to cheer you up,

if the ccc for 1mm over 1 meter is 30 amps then no problem lol
The use of a 1.0 cpc on a BS3036, 30A semi enclosed fuse has long been deemed not acceptable.

I just got called to a job where the lady had had a specialist oven cleaning company in to clean her oven and they said they didn't think the right size cable had been used on the oven and she should have it checked. I went out to find someone had installed a 1.5mm T+E from the oven to a plug top and plugged it in. 7KW oven.
Best of all, she had an EICR from when she purchased the house 2 years ago and the oven came as part of the kitchen and no mention of the supply to the oven on the report...
