There is So much truth in this !! Its on a thread about Trades "blanking" possible clients due to "Vibes/mannerisms " etc . Some one should offer a course to members of the Public on how to "real in" trades rather than have them walk off into the Sunset !
Like a lady I visited .Quick 30 mins site meet and greet .Turned up bang on time . she wanted some stunning sconce lighting fitted . New cable runs , fused spurs , dimmers (Lights and dimmers provided) etc etc . And all finished off ready for some paper hanging . It was urgent ..... And was asked if I could do it on a sunday . Sorted a quote out . Emailed same day . .Confirmed same day . Night before, her husband wants a breakdown of costs and materials . And wants to know if I could lower the costs ? Took the wife and son out for Brunch instead !! . I even told him by email that as far as I was concerned his wife was the client not him as he was not present at the meeting and the works had been agreed and I was not going to spend any time breaking a days work down with less than £50 worth of materials . Once you get that feeling , you know its going to be a waste of time.
